How to Use the Pregnancy Conception Calculator
Understanding Pregnancy Calculations
Pregnancy is typically calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), not from the date of conception. This is because the exact date of conception is often difficult to determine, while the LMP is usually known.
A full-term pregnancy is about 40 weeks (280 days) from the LMP. This calculator uses the standard Naegele's rule: due date = LMP + 1 year - 3 months + 7 days.
Key Pregnancy Milestones
- First Trimester: Weeks 1-13 (conception to about 12 weeks)
- Second Trimester: Weeks 14-27 (about 13 to 26 weeks)
- Third Trimester: Weeks 28-40+ (about 27 weeks to birth)
